"Why should we hear about body bags and deaths? Oh, I mean, it's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"

my website and email and life is back up. seriously, deprived since friday—which feels like so long ago—of no email or website was driving me nutso. it was a little scary in fact how much a difference it made to not have these things… !
i’m still having problems with my email—if you want, or just really need to reach me ;), leave a comment here and i’ll get back to you using another email account..—all set and back to normal. if these pages look funny or load weirdly, please tell me!
anyhow, with that done i feel calmer now and off i go to buy a dress for the upcoming wedding—etiquette is a bit of question here. what kind of dresses are appropriate: short? sleeveless? black? white? you get the idea. the only info i have is it’s a wedding in the evening (6 pm) and will be officiated in the cathedral in palermo. so.. off to shop i go.
it’s a happy day today in so many ways – and the future is looking good.

Hi! It looks a little wonky on this coast…your text is squeezed into a column with your journal categories, etc.
Have fun dress shopping!
~ Liz
I was wondering what was happening over at Chez MellowTrouble. You broke the internet! ;)
Re: the wedding (YAY!) – is the dress etiquette in question due to the location?
~ Miri
Hey- you scared me! Thought for a brief horrible moment you were gone. Have fun shopping (me, not so much liking it). After 6 usually means pretty dressy. I don’t know about Italy but my guess is that they are more likely to dress up than Americans. Not supposed to wear white the whole non-compete clause with the bride but black is fine here. If you’re in a cathedral, you’d want something to cover up a sleeveless dress but after you’re out of church - take it off, baby! Pictures please. (Somehow my text all came up as struck out. Are you trying to tell me something?)

All the little popup guys on the right are all popped up even though I didn’t ask them to. But at least I could read your post and the other comments! :)

yes, it is indeed
still wonky here at this site, popups and all ~ and my email is
still not very reliable. ah, just in time to go on an exciting trip to italy – grrreat.
collette, no censoring here. i wouldn’t do that to you, i like you!

Your email is apparently still acting a wee bit goofy, as it ate my reply to you. So I’ll just say have a terrific trip, and can’t wait for pictures! YAY!
~ Miri
Hi Andrea! Thanks for the props! I have to re-link your blog, you are going to the every damned day section!
~ Christine
OK OK…
1. It looks fine to me! Welcome back!
2. Etiquette…darker or colorful dress, not white. This will be QUITE a celebration with the lack of weddings that take place in Italy these days!
ENJOY!

hey andrea – i’ve been trying to e-mail you, but i’m sure it has something to do with problems you were having this past week! glad to hear everything is now working fine… as for dresses, i’m having the same issue – i’m sticking with traditional new york black. you can never go wrong with that, especially when the reception’s at night.
